A Soft Summer Hiatus

Kezleigh is how I care for the inner world, Hand & Paw is how I care for the world we share.

This summer, I gave myself permission to take a soft pause — to step back from deadlines, deliverables, and the relentless cycle of producing. Instead of pushing forward, I let myself breathe. I grounded, rested, and allowed space for the kind of quiet that nurtures both art and life.

What surprised me was what emerged in that pause: a new venture that feels deeply aligned with the values I already hold close. Out of this season of stillness came

Hand & Paw Cleaning and Pet Care Services — a project that, like my art practice, is built on care, attention to detail, and an intuitive connection to the spaces we live in.

It may sound like a leap, but for me, it feels like a natural extension. My work as an artist has always been about holding space — whether for memory, emotion, or transformation. With Hand & Paw, I get to bring that same sensitivity into people’s homes, balancing the practical with the personal.

For fellow artists, dreamers, and anyone juggling studio life with pets and the chaos of everyday living, Hand & Paw offers:

  • Gentle, respectful home cleaning (yes, including the endless tumbleweeds of pet hair and the dreaded litterbox).

  • Thoughtful, trustworthy pet care, so you can travel or work without worry.

  • A service designed by someone who understands the rhythms of creative life and the need for safe, inspiring environments.

This is a love project — a parallel path that lets me support others in keeping their homes soft, manageable, and nourishing. And while I’m pouring heart into this new offering, I’m still creating, still showing work, still dreaming big with my art.

Sometimes stepping back is what allows us to expand. This summer taught me that care can take many forms, and that my practice doesn’t have to live in only one lane.

Thank you for walking with me through the shifts, for witnessing both sides of my journey and the art and the care that sustains it.

Kezleigh
