The Human Condition Group Exhibition: Acceptance + Kezleigh's Artwork

I am so pleased to announce that Kezleigh has been accepted into the Sahar K. Boluki Gallery's group exhibition, The Human Condition.

“The Human Condition invites artists to reflect on various aspects of the human experience, including love, loss, joy, and sorrow. It seeks to capture the depth and complexity of human emotions and relationships.”- The Human Condition Exhibition by Sahar K. Boluki Gallery

Of course, I am overjoyed to be amongst the great talent the gallery has fostered.

A bit about the gallery:

The Sahar K. Boluki Gallery chooses to represent established, mid-career, and emerging artists. Offering a variety of entry points for new and seasoned collectors alike. The gallery is dedicated to working with foreign-born artists, creating a space for all the city’s communities to find art they can connect to. Of the gallery’s eight Canadian artists, seven are Iranian-Canadian, making Sahar K. Boluki Gallery the only gallery in the city with a majority Iranian-Canadian roster.

Dualism by Kezleigh

“The you you are and the you you need to be, exist in the same reality. Wanting to be separate, fighting. Yet, joined at the hip.”

This piece speaks on the aversion one might have with their negative self. I used to look for the light like someone might look for a light switch in the dark. I was once told to replace a negative thought with a positive one. As a human and as an artist, my negative self is part of who I am. I am learning to sit with my negative side as much as I reach for my positive one.

walking with heart - towards each other

“Wandering, wondering, waiting. Not needing but needed. Thoughts turned to love on the same level. We’re walking with heart - towards each other.”

I was full on true love when I made this piece. To me, it’s about being on the cusp of merging two lives together. Wondering if we’re on the same page and walking the same path, heading straight for each other.
