policing my joy
"policing my joy" explores the internal tension of living with bipolar disorder. Two female figures—one standing, offering a hand; the other curled on the ground in anguish—represent opposing aspects of the self: the helper and the one in pain.
This work speaks to the constant negotiation between emotional extremes and the quiet labor of managing joy. It reflects my ongoing practice of visualizing the psyche’s fractures and the complex, often invisible process of self-regulation.
